Whiteflight is a charming attractive young man, usually dressed to the height of fashion when not in disguise. In `real life` looks stockier than his wanted posters

Weapons

Though proficient in the rapier (particularly disarming and subduing) and throwing daggers Whiteflight is now a devout pacifist having realised the error of his ways after reading a magical tome. Currently carries a whip in which he has no training but does not intend to use as a weapon. [However the reverse of his magical curse is that if he takes a certain amount of damage (and fails his saving throw) or attempts to hits someone (which he cannot do without a save vs magic) he must kill them. For this reason he's never quite gotten rid of his Lightning Bolt spell.]

Non-Weapons Proficiencies

Whiteflight is trained in many areas. Proficient in Blind fighting, tumbling, appraising, forgery, ventriloquism, spellcraft, disguise, ettiquette, and heraldry, he plays the lute and flute, sings, can read and write his native Kursivalian as well as having a remarkable knowledge of the history of Lanmere.

Spell casting

Whiteflight is able to safely cast spells up to fourth level and though despite plenty of opportunity knows fewer than he should. This is put down to his innate ability to blow up spell books whenever he encouters them. Nobody despises this fact more than Whiteflight himself.

Special abilities

Whiteflight posseses the standard bardic abilities of Detect noise: 75% Pick pockets: 50% Spot hidden: 43% Climb Walls: 80% Read Language: 10% Identify Magic Items: 50% Influence reactions +13 He also posseses the werebear abilities of: Track by smell: 53% Cure Disease - one week care of individual heals at three times the normal rate can turn into a grizzly bear :) - and would do nasty damage if he wasn't a pacifist. summon 1d6 bears within 5 mile radius AC 2 and impervious to non-magical weapons (exc. silver)

Possessions

Whiteflight has managed to systematically detroy, lose or sell just about everything he (and everyone else) has of value. With money he occasionally manages to scrape together he still sports the traditional adventurers gear though fashionable clothes are a necessity when not adventuring. possessions currently include a whip, spell components, and standard adventuring gear.

Magical Items

Whiteflight currently posseses a selfmade amulet of continual light, a charred spell notebook, belonging to Zelda an erstwhile travelling companion, and a badly burned spell book which he'd had almost a month before blowing it up. He has also had the pleasure of handing a magical dagger to two bogus palladins, selling his monocle (read magic) to finance a quest, losing Mileesha's spell book (also charred) in a bet with a priest of Griss (God of luck and romance), blowing up spell books belonging to Rumag (a naga)and Brymwurten (a crazed necromancer) - both of whom the party had thoughtfully killed previously and also exchanging the wizard Orgal's famed spell book (which he'd stolen) for his very own spell book (which he then blew up - see above). Lastly his magic girdle was taken off his dead body by another party member after a fight with priests of Malus (god of the Undead).

Notes and History

Whiteflight leads a charmed life (or lives depending on how you look at it). Living his life at extremes he began adventuring to pay off debts owed to a brewer after excessively celebrating his 19th rebirthday. [Due to some weird circumstances Whiteflight can celebrate his rebirthdays three times a year which suits him fine] Whiteflight was killed at a very early age by unknown marauders who slaughtered his entire village. Discovered by Aeson who felt great sorrow seeing the slaughtered babe he was reincarnated in his new fathers image, keeping the scar across his throat where it had been slit. His new father taught him all about the local area teaching him stories and songs and a little magic. [Whiteflight never asked Aeson about his original race for fear of offending his beloved father, though it is more than likely that he was not human. Much teasing has come of this and his curiousity has piqued] When Whiteflight left his home he travelled to Lanmere, the nearest city, to find more about life outside the Darkmeer hills where he had grown up. Hired by Meledd a local brewer he joined a party of equal incompetents in transporting beer to a nearby village. Since then his life has never been the same. He's fought vampires in Ravenloft, undead in Beltaph's castle, and demons in the dimension of Kae'Esh [until he discovered the peace and truth of humanity and grew to love all things. (Charisma increased to 23)]. He survived the House of Madness only due to dubious interpretation of his sanity and was able to rescue his friends who were less fortunately turned to stone for apparently being fully compos mentis. Though many of his comrades have died Whiteflight is now the only original party member still adventuring, Skarra the druid left to fight Tiergan, the black dragon that killed Elia [his love], and Silanus took on the lofty position as Earl Ralian's Court Wizard. The party has since destroyed an evil necromantic bone ring, slain the monks of the Cult of the Circle of the Rat [Including Brother Krinn, Indran's Brother], destroyed the smug talking spell book of the Temporal Knight Morliff, and killed Alwin, the son of the Green Lady [who threatens to invade Kursival]. Having almost started wars between Kursival and neighbouring Turse twice Whiteflight was captured by his own party members and taken by the Inquisition to Turse to be executed for killing Alwin and thirteen members of the Inquisition (the downside of his magical pacifism is that if he does fight anyone he must save vs. magic or see them dead - though in these cases Whiteflight was not responsible for any of the deaths, he just likes to claim credit for all the cool stuff). Sir Kael, Whiteflights companion was to be killed upon reaching Merenbrook by the treacherous Tursans and would have been if Whiteflight had not escaped and rescued him (with the help of Ruben the Red, another outlaw). Whiteflight is a follower of Griss and does take incredible chances. However due to this he has met nine different gods through prayer and has even gambled with Griss on occasion. This way he has managed to restore his abilities after being caught out by a magical trap, be returned from the astral plane after misjudging a , and being changed to a werebear after being unfortunately reincarnated as a dwarf after being killed in a temple of Malus (whence his Charisma dropped to 21). He also managed to set off a scroll of Find Demonic Familiar (5th level) The result was that Whiteflight had the best companion of all times (short of Rorke, his favourite Wemic - and sadly missed). Kalarak the demon was the best - but was tragically killed fighting another demon trying to save the rest of the party's lives during our battle with Brymwurten. Despite vicious rumours Whiteflight has only been resposible directly for three other party members deaths and even then Brother Indran was ressurected by his goddess after Whiteflight sold him for magical experimentation. Although he may have accidentally aided a few others in their final journey he hasn't robbed any of them for almost a year now. Whiteflight really does have a heart of gold and is currently romancing Luyanna, a barmaid at the Horse and Griffin in Barrinder. He also put his life on the line making a deal with the Green Lady to save the lives and ressurect many of his companions after a battle with Alwin and his dragon friends went sour. Breaking the agreement afterwards caused the Green Lady to openly depsise Whiteflight and thus her Archbishop Grugen sent out the Inquisition to find him. Whiteflight had been successful in hiding from them until drunkenly making a bet with Friar Matrik, a priest of Griss, which he lost and so walked round the city of Barrinder on New Years Eve without his disguise. He was quickly stabbed with a poisoned dagger and would have been carried to safety had the guards not found Kael carrying his body back to the Inn. Strangely as a reward for Whiteflight's capture, Kael was knighted. The group is currently trapped in the tomb of Baepheus, a mad dragon who really should have died 2000 years ago. The rest of the country is in fear of war from Turse after Duke Torman was kidnapped (though Whiteflight bravely rescued him, smooth talking the Sir Borli's Green Dragon mount into giving us a lift back to Kursival) and are also battling the barbarians to the North. With everyone else occupied the group took it upon themselves to investigate the growing number of undead after an old acquaintance of ours unwisely opened a carefully sealed tomb. The current party consists of: Sir Corwin, Demon slayer. Knight of Alliveer (Human Ranger, lvl 9. played by Geoff) Sir Kael, Household Knight of Duke Svalrik (Half Elf Ranger, lvl 9. played by Jake) Brother Indran; currently distanced from his god and possesed by a nasty and somewhat dead dragon (Monk, lvl 7. played by Indran) Aspen Darkfire, Squire to Sir Corwin. (Thief/Figher, lvel 2/6. played by Chris) Brann, Squire to Sir Kael. (Fighter, lvl 6. played by Claire) [We've been playing this game regularly for about two years now for just over one year of game time. We've lost about 8 PCs and quite a few NPC friends along the way and it's been one of the best campaigns I've ever played in. Magic items are a rarity which makes it especially annoying when I destroy them but the best thing is that all the characters are really getting developed and our DM, Jack, really does know his stuff.]
